Both the Adobe Flash CS4 ACE exam and the Adobe Flash CS5 ACE exam are designed for professionals who have experience working in job roles related to motion graphics and animation. These exams are also targeted towards individuals who have experience as web designers or web developers.
To pass either exam, candidates should have a comprehensive knowledge of how to deploy Flash content to the Web and desktop. This includes the ability to understand the programming fundamentals related to ActionScript 3.0. Candidates for the Flash® CS4 certification exam must pass 51 questions with a score of at least 74%, while candidates for the Flash® CS5 certification exam should achieve a score of at least 70% on the 49 questions. While the Flash® CS5 exam can be completed in English, German, French, or Japanese, the Flash® CS4 can only be completed in English.
If a candidate has already earned a previous certification in a version of Flash, they can choose to take the Adobe Flash CS5 Recertification exam. This exam contains 37 questions, and candidates must earn a score of at least 70% in order to pass. As with many of the recertification exams, the CS5 recertification exam can only be completed in English.
Adobe recommends that candidates be adequately prepared before they attempt their exams.
